Hello; I am Engr (Dr) Umma Abdullahi, Senior Research Fellow specialising in Manufacturing and Materials Engineering at the Centre for Energy Research & Training (CERT).
I am someone who is passionate about imparting knowledge to others by teaching; that is why apart from my duties as a Senior Research Fellow here at CERT, I am also actively contributing to teaching and research as a Lecturer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering as well as the Department of Metallurgical Engineering. I always want to serve as a role model to young women engineers and scientists in such a way that can enable them gain and sustain confidence to venture into the engineering profession. Truly, it is a male-dominated profession but we are also making remarkable impact as women and I want young girls to take up this challenge and join us at ABU.
