A progress report on the activities of the 10-member University Renewable Energy Committee for the establishment of a biogas bioethanol factory and solar power plant in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria has been presented to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Kabir Bala.
The Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Prof Abubakar Ismail, who heads the Committee's technical team, led other members in presenting the report.
The report presentation was informed by the need for the Vice-Chancellor to take a well-informed decision on the next line of action for the establishment of the solar power plant.
The Vice-Chancellor, who thanked members of the Committee immensely for the job done, expressed his administration's determination to find a permanent solution to the institution's power challenge.
Some of the Committee members present during report presentation include Prof Boyi Jimoh, Department of Electrical Engineering; Prof Suleiman A Karwai, Department of Business Administration; Prof Mohammed Ibrahim Dabo, Department of Chemical Engineering; and Dr Sikiru Tajudeen, Department of Computer Engineering.
