The Management staff of Ahmadu Bello University led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabir Bala, have condoled with the family members of a staff of the institution, Malam Salisu Aliyu, who died on Saturday, 22nd August, 2020.
Malam Aliyu died at Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Shika, Zaria after an illness. His remains were buried at Dambo Muslim Cemetery after the funeral prayer at Alhudahuda College in Zaria City attended by hundreds of sympathizers from all walks of life.
Until his death, Malam Aliyu was a Deputy Registrar and Special Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University. He was briefly at School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS) as the Administrative Secretary after his redeployment from Division of Agricultural Colleges where he also served as its Administrative Secretary.
Speaking when he led the University Management team to the deceased’s family residence at Kofar Doka in Zaria today on a condolence visit, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabir Bala, described the deceased as an honest, humble and hardworking staff.
The Vice-Chancellor prayed to God Almighty to grant him eternal rest and make Jannatil Firdaus his final abode. He also prayed to God to give his family, relatives and colleagues the fortitude to bear the loss.
Meanwhile, the University has suspended its Management meeting scheduled to hold today in honour of the deceased who lived an exemplary life during his sojourn on earth.
Some of the Management staff on the condolence visit included Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Danladi Amodu Ameh; Registrar, Malam Abdullahi Ahmed Kundila; Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Sani Abdullahi; Dean of Students, Prof. Muhammad Yakasai Fatihu; and Ag. Chief Security Officer, Malam Ashiru T. Zango.
Others were Director, Directorate of University Advancement, Prof. Ahmed Doko Ibrahim; Director, University Health Services, Prof. Muhammad Sani Isa; Ag. Director, Public Affairs Directorate, Malam Auwalu Umar; and Ag. Chief Internal Auditor, Malam Shehu Badamasi.
