Making our Services to be at high standard where not only students and staff but even the Principal Officers of the University would like to go personally and happily for their health needs.
And also to achieve and maintain a high standard of environmental sanitation that should be exemplary to our future leaders trained in the University which would help them in promoting similar standards elsewhere, even in the villages and towns where they will later work.
Provision of a responsive high quality and highly accessible, efficient and community based, comprehensive medical and health services that is adequate, feasible, available affordable and acceptable to all. This will also be anchored on:
• Evident based medicine and Strong referral services
• Effective health education and good mental health services
• HIV/AIDS and drug abuse prevention and mitigation.
• Promotion of positive health practices, safe motherhood initiative, reproductive health and immunization services and youth friendly services
• Well equipped laboratory
• work place/laboratory safety and accident prevention
• Food and water hygiene
• Environmental sanitation, beautification and protection.
These are necessary to meet the 21st century challenges of emerging diseases, such as HIV/AIDS, and re-surgence of old diseases like Tuberculosis, malaria due to severe poverty and other factors.
UHS sees health care as an expression of concern for fellow human beings through a multitude of services rendered to individuals, families or communities by the agents of the health services or professions, for the purpose of promoting, maintaining, monitoring or restoring health. UHS will:
