ACTIVITIES OF THE SECTIONS

Our services to the community improve daily. This is largely due to more awareness and enlightenment by the University Health Services to the community.

With the introduction of students’ and staff insurance scheme more fund come to the department, The Students Direct Drug Purchase committee also constituted by the university sees to fulfilling of student prescription, increase our drug stock as evident with the number of prescription attended to daily .

 The large enrollment by National Health Insurance clients comprising staff of the university and the others from around Zaria who chose University Health Services as his/her primary provider also increased our activities.

 More drugs are included in the University Health Services drug list (hospital formulary) ranging from analgesics, anti ulcer; antipsychotics and new National Policy on Drugs on Malaria Treatments. We now have a separate dispersing room for the N.H.I.S clients and students hence allowing for drug counseling. In 2007 e year, Kongo Pharmacy unit was created which did not exist before. A Pharmacist now mans the unit with two Pharmacy Technicians supporting her.
