This is to inform all members of the University Community that the Library Complex Amnesty Week holds from 1st -22nd December, 2011. As usual,you are required to return within this period all over due library books with you free of charge. It is hoped that borrowers will use this oppotunity to their greatest advantage.

DONATION OF BOOKS AND JOURNALS TO KASHIM IBRAHIM LIBRARY BY CHEVERON NIGERIA LTD ON THE 16TH FEBRUARY, 2011.
Chevron Nigeria Ltd Donated books and journals to the kashim Ibrahim Library, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. About 57 cartons were received the contents were made up of journals and books. The journals and books are all covering the field of Geology in its various aspects.
The books are about 236 titles of one copy each .while the journals are about 20 titles of about 3,000 issues in all, covering a period between 1905 and 2009.
Alhaji Aliyu Mansur Manager of chevron Abuja office presented the journals and books to the vice chancellor ably represented by prof A.M.Adamu Deputy vice chancellor Academics A.B.U,Zaria with the company of the university Librarian Prof Zakari Mohammed .

DONATION TO KASHIM IBRAHIM LIBRARY!
The US-African Development Foundation, donated books to kashim Ibrahim Library.
A US-Nigerian Charity Organization, Donated books to the kashim Ibrahim Library Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. The books cover various subject areas of different fields of study.
The books are up to About 4,535 Volumes.

MORTENSON CENTER, UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS U.S.A.TO VISIT AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY ZARIA, JANUARY 24th - 25th 2011.
The mortenson center for International Library Programs University of Illinois USA will visit the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria as from 24th -25th January, 2011 to access the status of the Virtua integrated Library Systems, during their visit they are going to meet with various stake holders of the project. These are:
-The University Librarian
-Project Management Team, to assess the impact of the project.
-Cataloguers
-Library Systems Staff, to review the maintenance and back-up of the system
-University officials
-ICT Director
-Librarians who participated in the Mortenson Center program at the University of Illinois USA.
- The Use of VIRTUA system (OPAC ).

CELEBRATING THREE DECADES OF INDUSTRIAL DESIGN EDUCATION AND PRACTICE ! AUGUST 2010
The Department of Industrial Design is Celebrating its 3 Decades of Industrial Design/Teaching in Nigeria. As part of their activities to marck the day, is an Exhibitions of their recent creations, which are diplayed in the exhibition area of the library, the opening ceremoney was parformed by the Deputy Governor Kaduna State in prason of Alhaji Ramalan Yero, suported by the HOD and Members of the Staff and students of the Department.

Etcetera Art Exhibition in Kashim Ibrahim Library
The etcetera-mixmedia art exhibition by Iorver Ikeshi, Charles Achibi and Lasisi Lamidi was formerly opened to the general public on Wednesday 12th November, 2008, by Professor J. B. Kaltho, Dean, Faculty of Environmental Design, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. The Curator is Mr. Gambo Duniya.

J.F.KENNEDY LIBRARY BURNT
Routine Maintenance and general repair work on the roof of the president Kennedy library of Congo campus of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria..Resulted into an inferno that gutted priceless books, computers and archival materials worth millions of naira on Monday, 3rd November, 2008, at about 10am in the morning.The library was established in 1964 and named after former U.S. president Kennedy |

.KASHIM IBRAHIM DONATED BOOKS!
Kashim Ibrahim Library Donated books to the Benue state University Library.
About 154 volumes ,46 titles of books were donated to the Benue state university Library which got burnt sometimes this year. |
Kashim Ibrahim Library, Ahmadu Bello University, is holding a three day in- house training workshop for institutional repositories to acquaint them with the library digitization work. Some of the topics to be discussed are... Digitization 101, GreinStone, Dspace, etc.
