References to literatures should be referred by Name (Surname) and year (Harvard System) in the text and listed alphabetically in chorological order at the end of the manuscript. The use of abbreviation et al. should be italicised and limited to the text where more than two authors are cited. References to journal articles should state all authors, the journal title in the internationally accepted abbreviated form, volume number and pages. Articles published in the same year should be distinguished by appending alphabets a,b,c to the year. For books, list the author or editor, title, publisher, place and date of publication followed by the volume or page number if a part is referred to. Always give the title of the book in the original language, if the original title is not printed in Latin characters, use the standard transliteration employed by Chemical Abstracts. Manuscripts or books in press can be cited.

References to Personal communications should be numbered in Arabic numerals.
Figures
The word ‘Figure’ should not be abbreviated in either the text or legends. A text reference must exist for each figure. Graphs like chromatograms and spectra must be scanned in originals and not redrawn. All other illustrations must show figure number and author’s name. Line drawings and lettering must be of professional quality. All items in a figure must be of such size that they are still ligible when reduced for publication. A list of figure legends should be typed clearly; legends must not be included in the figure.
Tables
Tables, numbered in Roman numerals, must be typewritten with the legends above the Table. Only the first letter of the first word of legends and headings at the top and the side should be capitalised. Tables must not be submitted as photographs. The “word” Table should not be abbreviated in either the text or legends. The text reference must exist for each Table.
