Submission and Preparation of Manuscripts
Manuscripts must be submitted in triplicate (original and two copies) with covering letter to the following address:,

Submission of articles must be made by authors or the senior author and not by the head of laboratory or public relation office. If there is more than one author it should be stated in the letter, which author is responsible for correspondence and proofs. Receipts and manuscripts are acknowledged automatically by the editorial office.
Accepted manuscripts must be submitted on CDs stored as word or word perfect, together with two identical printed hard copies. Electronic files can be submitted on floppy disks, ZIP or CD-ROM. All figures and tables should placed appropriately within the text.
All sections of the manuscript must be typewritten on A4 paper with double line spacing and a margin of 2 cm on all four sides of the paper. The type should be large and easy to read. Pages should be numbered consecutively. The beginning of paragraph should be clearly shown. A full length paper should not normally exceeds 10 printed pages including tables, and figures.
The title page should contain in this order: the full title without abbreviations; the names of the authors with initials and the department, institution and address of each author without abbreviations (e-mail address where possible be included). An asterisk should be placed beside the name of the authors responsible for the inquiries and reprints.
Except for standard abbreviations, all abbreviations should be kept to a minimum in all sections of a manuscript and be given in parenthesis alongside the unabbreviated expression on the first use. The words ‘Table’ and ‘Figure’ should not be abbreviated. Abbreviation should not be used in title, summaries or headings.
Articles
Should contain the following sections in this order: title page, key words (5-6 in alphabetical order) summary/abstract, introduction, experimental data/procedure/method, results, discussion, conclusion, acknowledgement (if any) and references. The Summary/abstract, should state in no more than 15 to 20 lines the purpose of the study, basic procedures, main findings and conclusions. Introduction, should outline the purpose of the study, provide background information and objective of the study. Experimental, sufficient detail should be given so that the experiment can be repeated. Results, authors’ results only without interpretation should be presented. Tables and figures should not be repeated unnecessarily in the text. Discussion, should provide an interpretation of the results in relation to findings of other investigators. Conclusion should be unambiguous and clearly derived from findings of the study.
Short Communications
Should exactly follow the same format and style as described under articles.
Reviews
Should consist of title page, summary, text with table/or figures (if any), references, tables and/or figures (if any). Headed subdivisions within the text are desirable but at the discretion of the author. The abstract should summarise in not more than 150 words the content of the review and state any conclusion.
Letters to the Editors
Should not exceed three typewritten pages in length. A short title should be placed at the start of the text and the names of the authors with address (including email address if any) at the end of the text. There should generally be no more than three authors and five references.
Proofs and Reprints
Authors receive proofs of all categories except letters to editors. Proofs are sent directly to the corresponding author, and should be corrected and returned immediately. For technical reasons only minor changes can be made. Corresponding author will receive 1 copy of the journal free of charge. However, additional copies can be obtained at authors own expense at the cost of one thousand naira (N1, 000.00) only.
Manuscript Charges
Accepted manuscript will attract a charge of Seven Thousand, Five Hundred Naira (N7,500.00) Only for article of not more than Five (5) Journal pages. Any additional pages attracts a charge of one Thousand naira (N1,000.00) Only
Processing Fee
Non refundable processing fee is Two Thousand Naira (N2,000.00), equivalent to US $20.00 which must be paid along with submission of the manuscript.
