The Institute sits on a serene site overlooking the University dam and is flanked by a half-moon shaped orchard of fruit trees. From the top of the IDR roof there is a good view of the surrounding villages and the University dam. This is a good location for research work, to catch a cup of coffee and to relax in between work sessions or when work is done with for the day.
The Institute has facilities that make research conducive and enjoyable. It also welcomes groups interested in organizing conferences and seminars. Our facilities include:
Internet accessibility - IDR is served by the University’s wireless internet service and there is ample access to the Net.
Board Room – A fully air-conditioned and well furnished Boardroom with other supporting facilities is available for use.
Conference Rooms –There are three conference rooms within the Institute, making it convenient to host more than one event at the same time.
Conference Hall – The Institute also houses a large Conference Hall, with gallery seating space. The Hall can seat up to 600 participants and guests.
Accommodation – There are six fully furnished single-bedroom flats in the Institute to house researchers for short term periods when they are undertaking research.
Library – The Institute Library has a large collection of books and journals for researchers. It is a suitable facility for postgraduate students as well. IDR holds subscription to several journals.
Coffee on the Roof You can refresh and repower your brain at the coffee bar on top of the IDR roof, and have a good view of the dam and surrounding villages. The tea coves on the surrounding balconies are also points to ensconce.
