The department was established in 1975. The goal of the department is to inculcate in students of veterinary medicine the knowledge of diseases share between man and animals. They should then know the best approach to preventive and control measures.
In the department, students are exposed to practical methods of inspecting food, meat and sanitary measures. This explains the department’s cherished concept of being “the bridge between human and animal health".
