Head, Development Unit
The Head, Development Unit spearheads the establishment of relationships with both Individual and Corporate stakeholders.
He guides members of staff in the unit to reach out to all university's constituencies towards supporting programmes and
activities that seek to facilitate the overall mission of the Institution. The unit executes a comprehensive stewardship
programmes through working directly with academic departments and identified academic champions.
He reports directly to the Director on all activities and programmes relating to the unit.
He supervises the two programme
Officers in charge of Corporate and Individual giving
respectively.
The roles of the Head, Development Unit are:
Coordinate annual giving for the university, including direct mail, telefund, direct solicitation, email, volunteer solicitation, home coming/reunion etc
Develop an annual giving plan to reach all constituencies and work closely with academic staff members to implement the plan
Coordinate an annual stewardship plan for gift clubs and scholarship donors, and work closely with relevant academic staff members to implement the plan
Identify prospective individual and or corporate donors and initiate a cultivation and solicitation strategies
Develop and draft annual case statements, solicitation appeals, and accompanying letters and materials
