Programme Overview

The Fine Arts programme is tailored through both academic and professional training, aimed at developing students' perceptual, conceptual artistic talent and expressive abilities. It is focused towards stimulating consciousness and enquiry into the practical and theoretical issues relevant to the discipline, its cultural setting and the human society. The programme is designed to respond and accommodate rapid socio-economic and political changes that shape the Nigerian cultural milieu.
The programme of the department is designed to produce professional artists, art educators, art historians, art administrators, cultural officers for the manpower needs of Nigeria and the world at large.
it is also designed to equip and provide a balanced knowledge of the Fine Arts in its application and other cultural ramifications in relation to other disciplines of humanities, environmental, social sciences and other fields.

Entry Requirements

Admission to B.A (Hons) Fine Arts programme can be categorized into three:-
Normal admission into 100 level for holders of SSCE or equivalent.
Candidates must have 5 credits, passes at SSCE or equivalent in English language and Fine Arts and any 3 subjects.
Direct entry admission for holders of HND or NCE with credit, pass may be admitted into the 200 level.
Special admission for holders of HND or its equivalent that meet the requirement for normal admission and graduated with an average B+ or Upper Credit may be admitted to the 300 level courses.
