Has had several postdoctoral fellowship such as UNESCO Fellowship to Tokyo Institute of Technology (1993-1994); Alexander Von Humboldt Fellowship (AVH), Humboldtainer Christian Albretrch Universitat, Kiel, Germany (1996-1997) and Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Fellowship, Nagasaki University, Japan. A member of both the New York Academy of Sciences and American Association for the Advancement of Science.
