Mission/Activities

Mission

The mission for the establishment of the Centre for Biotechnology Research and Training (CBRT), Ahmadu Bello University were:

• To provide facilities for teaching and training in modern molecular biology techniques to students especially at the doctoral and post-doctoral levels in the areas of recombinant  DNA technology, Immunology and Cell and Tissue  culture techniques.

• To carry out basic and applied research in the areas of medical, pharmaceutics, agriculture and veterinary sciences particularly as are relevant to the changing development needs of Nigeria.

• To provide molecular diagnostic facilities for Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Plant Pathology diagnostics and other referrals from both public and private sectors.

The activities of the Centre is Biotechnology Research and Training.
